Neo Cab Arrives on Steam and Nintendo Switch on Oct. 3rd, Demo Available NOW

This comes out directly after this website’s owner returns from Twitchcon where they plan to have much new footage to share here.  The game has long been on my radar since teasers last year. After experiencing Night One on the demo from STEAM and knowing the game has multiple layers of storytelling and replay value I am extremely intrigued. Make sure to have this one on your wishlists!

Maintain your humanity as the last rideshare driver in an automated cyberpunk future

Melbourne, Australia – Sept. 19, 2019 —  Is your rideshare driver more than just a star rating? Have you ever stopped to consider how their day is going? Fellow Traveller and Chance Agency are excited to announce their emotional survival game of rideshare driving in an AI-driven world, Neo Cab, will be arriving on October 3rd. It will be coming to both PC (Windows, Mac) at $14.99 USD and Nintendo Switch at $19.99 USD. Pre-orders are live on the Nintendo eShop right now, and players are also invited to try Neo Cab in a new demo on Steam or Nintendo Switch! How will you manage your emotions under pressure?

Neo Cab, an emotional survival game with a strong narrative focus, challenges you to stay human in a world overcome by automation. Play as Lina, one of the last human rideshare drivers in a near-future, AI-driven world. Your friend and only lifeline has gone missing; with no money and nowhere to stay, the only thing you can do is keep driving. Use the Neo Cab app to navigate the city, choose your passengers, and engage with them to learn their stories — and uncover the truth about your own.

Inspired by the rise of our app-driven daily lives, Neo Cab Creative Lead Patrick Ewing is eager to confront the possible perils of our automated future saying, “What are the merits of personal, human service and why are sterile, automated interactions often presented as a core part of utopia? In Neo Cab, Lina is one of the last human drivers, and so those who get into her cab are in need of the human touch! Some of her passengers will enjoy having a conversation while they get from Point A to Point B. Others might prefer that automated utopia, and see Lina as just another node in the service mesh of automated capitalism.”

Neo Cab will release on Oct. 3, 2019, for Windows, Mac, and Nintendo Switch.

Key Features:

  • Meet a diverse cast of characters as you pick up passengers; everyone has their own story to tell.
  • Balance Lina’s monetary needs, the necessity for a five-star rating, and the moods of your passengers with what feels right.
  • A deeply branching storyline driven by your choices and your Feelgrid, a futuristic emotion-tracking tech.
  • Featuring a neon-soaked original soundtrack by Obfusc (Monument Valley, House of Cards).

Now, get a glimpse of a never-before-seen period of Klaus’ past, complete with gigantic battles against monsters, beautiful moments of holiday spirit, and special guest appearances from old allies and new foes.

“As ever, working with Dan Mora on a new KLAUS story is a highlight of my year. For this year’s special we decided to do something a little different by creating a Christmas advent calendar story featuring 25 iconic scenes from the adventures of Klaus,” said writer Grant Morrison. “We wanted to give Dan free rein for his remarkable creativity and imagination while also providing a narrative element that allows the images to tell the exciting, poignant and completely wordless life story of one JOE CHRISTMAS, from his humble beginnings to his inevitable end, as we see how that life has been affected and changed by his encounters and adventures with Klaus.”

KLAUS AND THE LIFE & TIMES OF JOE CHRISTMAS #1 features a main cover illustrated by Mora.

“Every year I look forward to working with Grant on a brand new issue of KLAUS. I love visiting this world and drawing all new characters, monsters, and planets, but this year is going to be very special because the entire issue is silent!” said artist Dan Mora. “That means I’ve worked overtime to capture every nuance of storytelling, character, and action to bring this Klaus story to life and introduce everyone to the LIFE & TIMES OF JOE CHRISTMAS, making this a very exciting challenge for me and hopefully a very exciting issue for fans.”

KLAUS AND THE LIFE & TIMES OF JOE CHRISTMAS #1 is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; Faithless by Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet; Abbott by Saladin Ahmed and Sami Kivelä; Bury The Lede by Gaby Dunn and Claire Roe; Klaus by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora; Something is Killing The Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera; and the upcoming Folklords by Matt Kindt and Matt Smith. The imprint also publishes popular licensed properties including Joss Whedon’s Firefly from Greg Pak and Dan McDaid; Buffy The Vampire Slayer from Jordie Bellaire and David Lopez; and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from Ryan Parrott and Daniele Di Nicuolo.

“Just when you think there’s nothing special left to say about Santa Claus, Grant and Dan rise to the challenge. With over fifty pages of Dan Mora’s art and Grant’s masterfully minimalist storytelling, this year’s special may be our most powerful yet,” said Eric Harburn, Senior Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Grant and Dan have truly outdone themselves with this wordless issue of KLAUS that will delight longtime fans and astonish new readers.”

Your First Look at Cecil Castellucci’s Graphic Novel Memoir GIRL ON FILM

The True Story of the Bestselling Comics Creator’s Artistic Journey in November 2019

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 4, 2019) – BOOM! Studios today revealed a first look at GIRL ON FILM, an original graphic novel memoir from award-winning young adult novelist and Eisner-nominated comic book writer, Cecil Castellucci, illustrated by artists Vicky Leta, Melissa Duffy, V. Gagnon, and Jon Berg, available in November 2019.

In 1977, Star Wars released in theaters nationwide and changed young Cecil Castellucci’s life forever. From that moment on, she knew that she would one day become a storyteller who brought her own imagination to life. Thus began the evolution of the young starstruck fan into an aspiring theater kid (whose high school friends were Jennifer Aniston and Chaz Bono), a teenage artiste running wild in ‘80s New York, an indie musician in the Montreal punk scene, and finally the acclaimed author and bestselling comic book writer she is today. GIRL ON FILM brings those memories to life on the page, and then asks us to examine just how time and perspective can color those memories.

GIRL ON FILM is the latest release from BOOM! Studios’ ambitious Archaia imprint, home to graphic novels such as Mouse Guard by David Petersen; New World by David Jesus Vignolli; Jane by Aline Brosh McKenna and Ramón Pérez; About Betty’s Boob by Vero Cazot and Julie Rocheleau; Bolivar by Sean Rubin; and licensed series including Lev Grossman’s The Magicians: Alice’s Story by Lilah Sturges and Pius Bak; Jim Henson’s The Power of the Dark Crystal and Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: Coronation.

Print copies of GIRL ON FILM will be available for sale November 13, 2019 at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the nearest one), on November 19, 2019 at bookstores, or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and the BOOM! Studios app.
