One of my favorite websites ever is Newgrounds. It is a repository for Flash cartoons and games. I traditionally explore the games more often then the videos. While there is the occasional magic humor or even good action drama to be found in the toons, it is the games that usually rock the socks.
Here’s just some of the games I recently played that I truly enjoyed.
Droppy – PencilKids make some of the best Flash Adventure games around, this is just one of them. Check them all out though.
Copycat – this little ingenius game uses stencils and paint to inventive ways. Can you repeat the pattern?
Level Up – this platformer can be a headache in terms of trying to beat, but the storyline and pixel graphics are great.
Spyke – Another simple looking game, as a cute cat bounces on a ball, but simplicity here means a challenge.
Dale & Peakot – Except for the unweidly mouse and keyboard controls for a 2D platformer, this is one of the most professional looking games on Newgrounds in forever. Do not miss the developers, JuicyBeast, first wacky game GOBTRON.
Escape the Red Planet – Once again simplicity and cute art make one of the funnest challenges you’ll find. Not to be avoided.

Lord of Illusions still holds up incredibly well. Scott Bacula brings Harry D’Amaur to life, showing his true chops as an actor, but so much credit needs to go Daniel von Bargen as Nix-The Puritan. The only other person on film (IMHO) to play a supernatual cult leader with such precision was Richard Lynch in Bad Dreams. While Bacula and Famke Janssen push the film forward, without the pure evil and sickness of Nix, the film has no energy/no strength.
The film is also probably the only film I know that uses The Magic Castle to such precision, even having sadly departed world class illusionist Billy McComb appear, although under a different name.
Supposedly the book Clive Barker is writing now (has been writing for awhile) features D’Amaur teaming with a few others and taking on Pinhead. That would make a pretty cool film too.
Anyways, the Lord of Illusions itch was in me for weeks and it was sitting on the shelf staring at me “Watch me, Watch me” and i finally watched it again after about 2 years since the last time with actually brand new, clear eyes and I’m glad I did.
If you’ve never seen it, do so… if you have, do so again… it’s just one of those kind of films.

I Love Local Commercials -Rhett & Link are two video directors who travel the country making commercials much like REAL Local commercials, but with higher quality and more intentional humor.
(thanks to my buddy Cash4 for the heads up on this one)
I am a huge fan of NCIS and especially Abby Sciutto, played by the utterly adorable former lead singer of Lo-Ball, Pauley Perrette. This awesome crocheted Caf-Pow and Abby doll was made by an artist who calls herself Missie Zee.
For those who truly love Pauley, her new music efforts are called Stop Making Friends.
Also here’s some classic Lo-Ball… blond Pauley was just as cute… but she’s no Abby.
