Written by Vox Media co-founder and lifelong Transformers devotee Tyler Bleszinski, with luscious artwork by longtime Transformers artist, Livio Ramondelli, Transformers: Galaxies #1 uncovers the hidden secrets of Cybertron’s vast beauty and extraordinary cityscapes. Long ago, after the War Against the Threefold Spark ended, the Constructicons emerged to help rebuild the decimated planet in grand fashion. But what happened to them in the years since? Why had they been erased from Cybertron’s history… and what have they been planning for their devastating return?
“I’ve dreamed of the day that I could somehow be involved in the Transformers universe,” says Bleszinski. “Humanizing the Constructicons in a refreshed origin story with Livio Ramondelli – one of the most talented Transformers artists ever – will be one of the highlights of my life and will give me the opportunity to share my passion for these incredible creations with my kids’ generation. This is truly a dream come true.”
“Transformers: Galaxies delves into what’s happening away from Cybertron,” says editor David Mariotte. “Tyler and Livio are working on a story about broken promises and lost futures — about those who fall by the wayside to maintain a utopia.”
To commemorate the debut of Transformers: Galaxies, IDW will offer multiple variant covers, including Cover A by Livio Ramondelli, Cover B by Nick Roche, and two Retailer Incentive covers by George Caltsoudas and Casey W. Coller, respectively.
For information on how to secure copies of Transformers: Galaxies, as well as the parent series Transformers (now shipping monthly), please contact your local comic shop or visit www.comicshoplocator.com to find a store near you.

in James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera’s New Original Series From BOOM! Studios
A Chilling Tale of Small Town Horror and the Only Person Who Can Fight Back in September 2019
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 18, 2019) – BOOM! Studios today announcedSOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN, an all-new original five-issue limited series from GLAAD Award-winning author James Tynion IV (The Woods, Justice League) and artist Werther Dell’Edera (Briggs Land) about a close-knit community rocked by a series of murders and the stranger who arrives in the wake of tragedy, reopening old wounds and causing new trouble.
In a sleepy town in the heart of America, children have started to die in horrific ways. The local police are mystified by the brutal murders, and frantic to catch the killer. But they refuse to believe reports of impossible creatures that lurk in the shadows snatching children and tearing them to pieces, especially since the only people who claim to have seen these so-called monsters are other children. Enter Erica Slaughter, a mysterious stranger who rides into town and claims she can solve their “monster” problem. But can the townspeople trust this dangerous outsider with their children’s lives? And more importantly, can the children trust this strange adult with their secrets?
James Tynion IV is a comic book writer, best known for his work on the Batmanfranchise for DC Comics. His comics career began with co-writing the back-up stories on Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s character-defining run on Batman, which would lead to him making his own name on a number of Bat-centric series. This work would culminate in James serving as the showrunner of two consecutive weekly comic series, Batman Eternal and Batman & Robin Eternal, followed by writing the massive crossover project Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and subsequently taking the reins of one of DC’s crown jewels, Detective Comics. In addition to the 2017 GLAAD Media Award-winning series The Woods with Michael Dialynas, James has also penned the critical successes Memetic, Cognetic, andEugenic with Eryk Donovan, The Backstagers with Rian Sygh, and Ufology with Noah J. Yuenkel and Matthew Fox. An alumni of Sarah Lawrence College, Tynion now lives and works in New York, NY.
“SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN is a project that has been living in my head for a long, long time. It’s shifted and changed in different ways at different moments, but ultimately I think this was the form it was always MEANT to take. There are horrifying things in the world that are only really visible to the young—unique societal pressures and terrors, monsters, unshaped creatures of fear and horror that prey on children—and much as we try to protect them, we fail, over and over again.” said writer, James Tynion IV. “This is a very grounded human story about very grounded human fears that take a more literal, horrifying shape. And then there’s Erica Slaughter. She kills the monsters the other adults can’t see. I am very excited for all of you to enter the world Werther and I have created, so you can meet her.”
Werther Dell’Edera is an Italian artist, born in the south of Italy. He has worked for the biggest publishers in both Italy and the U.S., with his works ranging fromLoveless with Vertigo to the graphic novel Spider-man: Family Business with Marvel Entertainment. He has also worked for publishers such as Image Comics, IDW, Dynamite, and Dark Horse. In Italy, he has drawn Sergio Bonelli’s Dylan Dog andThe Crow: Memento Mori, from IDW and Edizioni BD, for which he has won awards for Best Cover Artist, Best Series, and Best Artist.
“I was very excited when BOOM! Studios got in touch with me regarding this project with James Tynion IV. This is my first creator-owned project, and everything so far has been amazing.” said artist, Werther Dell’Edera. “To draw a character like Erica Slaughter has been an absolute pleasure.”
SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, includingOnce & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; Faithless by Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet; Abbott by Saladin Ahmed and Sami Kivelä; Bury The Lede by Gaby Dunn and Claire Roe; Grass Kings by Matt Kindt and Tyler Jenkins; and Klaus by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora. The imprint also publishes popular licensed properties including Joss Whedon’s Firefly from Greg Pak and Dan McDaid; Buffy The Vampire Slayer from Jordie Bellaire and David Lopez; and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from Ryan Parrott and Danielle Di Nicuolo.

Studios. “This series is unlike anything else on the shelves — an atmospheric, subversive, and mature exploration of trauma that is a bold next step for both James and Werther.”

The interactive first person story teller that is DRAUGEN is an intriguing one. It falls in the current world of the new adventure game in which puzzles take a back seat to art, story and mechanics. That isn’t a bad thing. It’s a venture of our ever changing world that allows stories to be told in different fashions so they never get old. They’ll forever be labeled video games and will always have the mechanic of such, be in running when you need to run, following a path, or simply choosing the order you look at items to unlock progression. Those simple additions take it from film to video game though and while to some the term walking simulator is applied, that also is not a bad thing.
Case in point Draugen takes place in a remote island town of Norway in the 1920s and follows a mystery going back over 30 years. It doesn’t matter that unfortunately a major part of the mystery is never revealed completely, while it’s true I found myself screaming “But what happened in redacted?” or “So why did redacted actually redacted?” it didn’t take away my enjoyment.

Unlike another reviewer my favorite character was Lissie, while I found the character we controlled Edward Theodore “Teddy” Lander to be a whiny, annoying weak character for the entire first half of the game. This was rectified later by giving reasons to why the character was the way he is and made Draugen so much more more than just a basic 1920s Noir.

One of the truest highlights outside the story, flawed or not are the graphics. It is an idyllic, quiet town but it is beautiful as well with mountains, rivers, trees, grass, shacks, houses, and most important to me goats. The “hidden” goats who are actually in plain view but not in spots you’d automatically look. They add so much to the game. The art for Lissie is really great too though, which is important since you see so much of her.
Some of the mysteries in Draugen may go unsolved unless you just know the truth, but the mystery is the experience worth it? To that I say yes. While much more interactive visual novel with walking sim it does not detract from and truly enjoyable experience, especially at its price point.
Draugen is available NOW on Steam as well on GOG for $19.99.

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 17, 2019) – BOOM! Studios today, in partnership with 20th Century Fox Consumer Products, unveiled three BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #8 covers by Mondo illustrator Marc Aspinall, and artists Kevin Wada (She-Hulk) and Becca Carey (Bitch Planet). This game-changing issue of the acclaimed series will debut in stores September 4, 2019.
While the Slayer and the rest of the Scooby Gang were fighting to save Xander’s soul, the Mistress Drusilla and her lieutenant Spike were busy searching for a way to open the gates of the Hellmouth so they could flood Sunnydale, then eventually the world, with demons and hell on Earth. And they’re close. Can Buffy stop them in time to save the world from utter destruction?
High school is hell, as Eisner Award-nominated writer Jordie Bellaire (Redlands) and acclaimed artist David López (Captain Marvel), along with series creator and story consultant Joss Whedon (the visionary writer/director behind Firefly, Marvel’s The Avengers, and more), reimagine the groundbreaking pop culture phenomenon for a new generation of comic book fans.

Robert Grossman was the famed artist of over 500 magazine covers (Time, New York Times, Rolling Stone, New York, National Lampoon, etc.), iconic film posters (for instance, Airplane! and its famous imagery of fuselage being tied in a knot), Acady Award-nominated animation, and ingenious comic strips.
Grossman completed his magnum opus and decade-long passion, the graphic novel Life on The Moon, shortly before his passing last year. The artist, who reveled in illustrating the “un-illustratable,” wrote and drew this historical work based on the “Great Moon Hoax” of the mid-19thcentury, the most successful fake news in media history.
Film director Terry Gilliam calls Life on the Moon, “Amazingly inventive!” and reveals that in his professional history, “I did my best to follow in Robert Grossman’s footsteps!”
In 1835, New York newspaper The Sunpublished a series of six articles attributed to the famous contemporary astronomer Sir John Herschel declaring the discovery of life — and even civilization — on the Moon! According to The Sun, the lunar inhabitants included unicorns, bison, bipedal tail-less beavers, and intelligent humanoids with bat-like wings.
Life on the Moon is a full-length graphic novel capturing this mythical world. Robert Grossman said the book is set in a time when “many of the signal achievements of the 19th Century still lay well in the future, Andrew Jackson was president, the steamboat was the summit of technology, and news traveled slowly.” The unfettered novel includes real historical figures such as P.T. Barnum, Jean Jacques Audubon, Lorenzo Da Ponte, Charles Goodyear, and Edgar Allan Poe. Grossman stated that, “Life on the Moon is meant to be at least partly funny, and has a rip-roaring sci-fi ending.”
He concluded, “I read somewhere that William Randolph Hearst insisted that everything he produced had: tears, laughs, loves, and thrills. Life on the Moon has all that and more.”
Art Director, author, and graphic historian Steven Heller declares, “Bob Grossman, one of America’s most innovative caricaturists, was a spirited storyteller with a bottomless well of historical fact and trivia to draw from. In Life on the Moon, he weaves a tale that cannot be read just once, so on that next trip to the Moon, take it along.”
Journalist Pete Hamill proclaims, “Grossman has the subtle power to change the way we perceive reality, like Chekhov or the best of Hemingway.”
The New York Times called Grossman “an outstanding illustrator with a brash touch.” The Washington Post called his work “incisive”, Rolling Stone said his art was “biting” and the creator of Mad, Harvey Kurtzman, called Grossman’s art “Perfect!”
Yoe Books’ Craig Yoe says, “We are both humbled and immensely proud to be publishing this masterpiece in our new original graphic novel series. I fully expect Life on the Moon, Robert Grossman’s tour de force, to take its rightful place among the most revered works in our field.”
