Studios, in partnership with 20th Century Studios, revealed a first look ANGEL & SPIKE #14, featuring a first appearance of Daniel “Oz” Osbourne and a brand new creative team, from acclaimed writer Zac Thompson (Spider-Geddon: Edge of Spider-Geddon), artist Hayden Sherman (Thumbs, The Few), colorist Roman Titov (Angel), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (Angel) along with visionary writer and director Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Marvel’s The Avengers), available in September 2020.

Detective Kate Lockley is getting pulled further into Angel’s supernatural world, but may have a connection to his violent past that neither of them ever expected! Meanwhile, Fred taps into a dangerous new magic…and that may just be part of Wolfram & Hart’s master plan. As the supernatural crime fighting team faces more danger than ever, they encounter a brand new threat and a familiar face in a strange new place . . . the fan favorite werewolf Oz!

ANGEL & SPIKE #14 features a main cover by Christopher J. Mitten (Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.), as well as variant covers by artists Gleb Melnikov (Angel, Seven Secrets), and Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night).

Created by visionary writer and director Joss Whedon (Marvel’s The Avengers film franchise), Angel premiered on the WB Network on October 5th, 1999 and was a spin-off from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The series ran for five seasons from 1999–2004, starring David Boreanaz as Angel, the tortured vampire destined to walk the earth with a soul who moved to LA to set up shop as a supernatural private investigator. Despite Angel’s best efforts to deal with the sins of his past all by himself, Angel Investigations soon became home to other lost souls searching for redemption and willing to fight by his side.

Hotly-Anticipated New Comic Book Debut From Keanu Reeves Launches New Reader Initiative

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 1, 2020) – As part of a campaign to bring new readers to comics BOOM! Studios today announced that BRZRKR, the blockbuster new series from the iconic Keanu Reeves alongside New York Times bestselling co-writer Matt Kindt (Folklords, Bang!), superstar artist Ron Garney (Wolverine, Captain America), colorist Bill Crabtree (BPRD), and letterer Clem Robins (Hellboy), will be offered in complete graphic novel sets through Kickstarter. Fans will have an opportunity to pre-order all three graphic novel collections of the new series in regular, limited edition and ultra-rare, premium formats through October 1 at 12:00 pm PDT. BRZRKR graphic novel collections offered through Kickstarter will begin shipping alongside the book market release of BRZRKR Vol.1 in September 2021, with subsequent volumes shipping at the same time as their book market counterparts (unless otherwise noted for later delivery).

Studios today announced that superstar artist Ron Garney (Wolverine, Captain America) is the new series artist for BRZRKR, the upcoming twelve-issue limited series from the iconic Keanu Reeves in his Must Read comic book writing debut alongside New York Times bestselling co-writer Matt Kindt (Folklords, Bang!), colorist Bill Crabtree (BRPD), and letterer Clem Robins (Hellboy).

Over the course of his thirty year career, Ron Garney  has built a large fan following, illustrating some of the industry’s greatest characters including Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Thor, X-Force, Captain America, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, Silver Surfer, G.I. Joe, and the Justice League of America, along with original series like Men of Wrath with Jason Aaron. He recently completed acclaimed runs on Daredevil and Savage Sword of Conan at Marvel Entertainment. A perennial “Top Ten” artist during his career, Garney has been nominated twice for the industry’s coveted Eisner Awards, for Best Artist and Best Serialized Story (Captain America with Mark Waid), and has worked in Hollywood on major projects, notably as a costume illustrator for I Am Legend (starring Will Smith) and providing illustrations for Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix.
