Remastered & New Issues of the Long Out-of-Print Series to Be Released Beginning This November
LOS ANGELES 07/25/2025 — At his “Robert Kirkman LIVE at SDCC” panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC), visionary creator Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead, TRANSFORMERS) announced the return of the long out-of-print and very much in-demand comic book series Capes from Skybound and Image Comics. Representinghis and co-creator/artist Mark Englert’s (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hack Slash) corner of theInvincible Universe,Capes will return to comic book shops beginning in November 2025 as a special remastering featuring new art and dialogue from the original creative team.
Reprinted for the first time since its release over 20 years ago, fans and collectors will not want to miss the new monthly releases of Capes. This series is perfect for fans looking to discover every corner of the Invincible Universe as seen in the hit Skybound and Prime Video series, which continues to shatter records worldwide.
Then, in a thrilling second announcement, Kirkman revealed that all-new Capes stories will be coming from another longtime friend of the Invincible Universe, writer Benito Cereno (Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, Blood & Thunder), alongsideartistMark Englert. Beginning in 2026 with issue #7, this revival of Capes promises to take fans even deeper into unexplored areas of the Invincible Universe.
“With so much excitement surrounding all things Invincible-related, I knew we had to get Capes back in print!” exclaimed an uncharacteristically enthusiastic Robert Kirkman. “Revisiting the original issues was so much fun, we knew we couldn’t stop there. I love these characters and it was a thrill to get to introduce the world to Bolt, Kid Thor and Knockout in Invincible season 3. If the world wants more Capes how can we not give it to them?”
“When Robert contacted me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to recolor Capes, I was super excited,” said Mark Englert. “I wasn’t expecting going over the old pages to feel so therapeutic, almost mentoring my younger self to bring the art up to par with rest of the amazing books in the Skybound library. When we made the decision to go all in, really remaster the art beyond the colors, adding backgrounds, fixing up faces or figures, my passion for drawing sequential pages was rekindled and I wanted to keep going. Creating brand new Capes stories with Robert and Benito has been a dream come true!”
BOLT! KID THOR! KNOCK OUT! CAPTAIN COSMIC! CLAIRE VOYANT! BIG BRAIN! COMMANDER CAPITALISM! Welcome to Capes Inc, employers of your favorite superheroes that protect New York City – well, at least when they’re on the clock – from threats like MACHINE HEAD, TITAN…and now are in the crosshairs of an enemy they never expected!
“It’s been a real thrill to get to dive back into the Invincible Universe, especially into some of its less-explored corners,” said Benito Cereno. “Any Invincible fan might spend time wondering about the off-panel adventures of Allen the Alien or the Immortal, but it takes a real weirdo to wonder what Battery Bill and Brain Boy were up to during the Viltrumite War. And luckily for me, I get a chance to be that weirdo, officially, together with my old pal, Mark Englert!”
Capes #1 features covers by both Invincible series artists, contributing creator Ryan Ottley and co-creator Cory Walker. The stacked lineup includes a main cover by Ryan Ottley, an open-to-order cover by Mark Englert, a 1:10 incentive variant by Cory Walker, a 1:25 incentive variant by Jahnoy Lindsay, a 1:50 incentive black-and-white variant by Ryan Ottley, and a blank sketch cover.

From July 8th – July 15th I took a vacation in Denver, CO. I did not check Youtube during this time and sporadically checked emails. I have games to play and review, TV and movies to watch, and life to catch up on, but I am going to do my best to find things I missed while I was away eating amazing food, visiting Meow Wolf, Rocky Mountain National Park, Casa Bonita and so much more (a post on the trip to come). So here we go… Nerd Notes.

I watched nothing but HBO in my hotel room in the morning and night, this trailer played 10 times at least. I’m interested since I am a Billy Joel music fan and I appreciate him being humble and owning to mistakes.

I do not have a photo of the 20 pounds of books I sent home earlier on day one, nor do I have a photo of the many books I ended up getting on the last day. One day, but I also feel the books being both already published and Galleys/ARCs will slowly just be on the shelves. I do want to note that the new Joe Hill, which I scored an ARE before leaving the show is epic not just in concept but also in size.

Horror often addresses “The Other,” that which is perceived as different, alien, or monstrous compared to the norm, invoking fear or revulsion. This panel will discuss how women comics creators, including writers, artists, and editors, use horror as a lens/mirror to reflect and critique societal issues about gender, race, sexuality, and other topics. Why do women create horror comics? Why do women read horror comics? The role of libraries in collecting horror comics can help highlight the influence of women creators in horror comics. By displaying their work, libraries help support these creators’ contributions to the horror genre, and how they challenge and redefine the genre. Libraries can also support independent publishers or self-published creators of women-created horror comics.

Disclaimer: I was provided an early press copy of Date Everything for review. Opinions and screen shots are based on the PS5 digital edition (no DLC).
If I could I legitimately would date almost every one. I do not know if I would date everything but that is only because in the real world, we do not have the ability to converse with inanimate objects. We can pretend for sure. I am sure every one has at one point considered some object as their partner when they were not involved with another human. Some intimacy with a product designed for it or not. I will not state my own sexual experiences in that, but they were only that, never a true relationship, but imagine? Imagine if you could date your guitar? Or your favorite book? Or even a deck of cards… although that’d be a lot of people to date, fifty-two people of varying degrees and moods. Yeah, that’d be too much.
In the video game by Date Everything developed by Sassy Chap and published by team 17 you attempt to date at least a hundred different items though. TVs, sofas, globes, candles, food, the stairs, the bed, the computer, the vents, the toilet, the shower and even the unexpected. You do more than date though, you discover, you learn, you become friends, you become enemies, sometimes you know why and other times you might get confused just like the real world with humans.
The actual background plot that leads to you dating everything and continues on in an almost visual novel format of the dating simulator is fascinating in itself. A whole world creation of everything in a world, people, places, corporations, mystery, drama, comedy. It’s all there, and it compels you discover more and more each day that you can. There are also secrets. This isn’t your average dating simulator. You need to find your dates and its not just as simple as clicking. You need to read descriptions, touch things and try different well.. game things, making Date Everything just that, a video game. Not a dating simulator, not a visual novel, not an adventure, but all of that combined. A story game that you may have to play more than once to discover everything.
Which you definitely will want to do. While the IMDB page gives away a lot, it is not till you experience these voice actors portraying these characters in their awesome self that they truly come alive and start to also inhabit you. Do you return to someone to continue the relationship or try to find more people to date, and yes, you will have to choose.
One of the mechanics of the game that will seem frustrating and annoying but also creates the power of choice and the freedom but boundaries of choice is you can only speak to five dateable characters per day session (Monday-Sunday), be it ones you have unlocked already or ones you still have not seen. Without this and just being able to talk to anyone at any time would also make it less a simulator and just a free for all and if that’s what you want then you’re in the wrong place (always possibly, games are meant to be escape but still have rules and if you tried to free for all in the real world you’d probably get rejected non-stop; at least in Date Everything your chances are 98.7% higher of successful flirtation and maybe eventually more and isn’t that all we can ask for?)
I have dropped some of my favorite personal screen shots throughout this review that should just give you the idea of how broad the types of “people” you can date are and the type of dates as well. This game is so inclusive it makes my heart swell. The writer, the artists and everyone behind Date Everything I feel truly understand what makes someone like me tick, but also leaves things that however you tick and whatever your preferences are, you will find someone… something to love.
Date Everything is out now on Steam, Switch, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
