Los Angeles, USA – August 5, 2025 — Final Girl Games–the solo development effort of creator Cara Cadaver– and publisher DreadXP are announcing today that VILE: Exhumed has been released independently as a free shareware title under a CC BY-NC-ND license. The team believes very strongly in the power message of Cara’s very personal game that was unjustly banned from Steam in late July, so creating a way to make it available to everyone was their top priority in the face of censorship. Players can download the game today and play, with optional payment links available for anyone who wishes to support.
VILE: Exhumed was not banned for its use of gore, or its intense themes, but instead it was wrongfully banned for “sexual content with depictions of real people,” according to Valve. The game covers topics of assault, abuse, and entitlement, and uses a combination of FMV and practical effects, predominantly featuring the developer, with the goal of creating images as horrifying as the themes. There are a lot of intense visuals in VILE: Exhumed, but there is no uncensored nudity, no depictions of sex acts, and no pornography present at all.
“This censorship of my work is a direct attack on creative expression and artistic freedom, and it will not stop with false accusations of sexual content. They will come for anything that speaks more loudly than they do”, said developer Cara Cadaver. “This is our response to being censored, and our rejection of the idea that horror can be defined as acceptable or not.”
VILE: Exhumed launches independently today through the dedicated website www.vileisbanned.com as a free shareware title. Information is available on the website for all players who wish to support the game. DreadXP will be donating all of their profits, and Cara will be donating a portion of hers, totaling in 50% of all profits from the game being donated to Red Door Family Shelter, a Toronto-based charity that works to help families, refugees, and women escaping violence. It is published by DreadXP under the XP Ultra program, a publishing initiative created to support innovative horror experiences. In addition, a physical version of the game is currently being planned for the future with a partner.
“As soon as we realized that the game had been banned, the conversation internally with Cara became about what we collectively could do to do right by her and her work. In the face of widespread attempted censorship, it didn’t feel like a time for half-measures and compromise, so we all decided that releasing the game into the wild where it could never be made unavailable by a single platform felt like the best option, and strongest message.” says DreadXP Director, Hunter Bond.
Originally developed as a prototype in 2024, VILE: Exhumed garnered attention for its unflinching depiction of digital obsession and the violence that festers in the shadows and in front of our eyes. In this new full release, you will explore the remnants of a stranger’s mind through the decaying interface of an old computer, piecing together the disturbing narrative hidden within corrupted files, old abandoned forums, and emails. Solo developer Cara Cadaver has channeled a fiercely personal perspective into VILE: Exhumed, creating a story that feels intimate, upsetting, and deeply human. This is horror stripped of metaphor and of the fantasy or supernatural, laid bare in binary and blood. As the game invites you to confront uncomfortable truths about entitlement, identity, and digital voyeurism, Cadaver hopes you’ll find not just fear, but careful reflection.
Features:
Creep through the darkest pits of an old computer
Uncover a rat’s nest of photos, messages, emails, and other digital residue
Unearth the aftermath of one man’s obsession with adult film actress Candy Corpse
San Diego Comic Con just finished. VANS Warped Tour Long Beach happened. Ozzy Osbourne, Hulk Hogan and Chuck Magione among others died. Fantastic Four: First Steps came out. GamesCom is coming and then we got PAXWest (which PCS will be at) and if lucky while in Seattle also Bumbershoot. Many movie, tv, video game, book, comic trailers have dropped as well as music videos and wrestling. Here’s what caught attention to this site that we felt deserved reboost and comment.
new DLC only for this when I already have it on disc is frustrating but this is some major addition to it.
Dan Houser comic looks great.
Mystery Wrestling as a whole needs to be watched but this so far two part London Lightning mini movie needs to be seen. You don’t have to enjoy wrestling, you just need to enjoy surreal humor and quality concepts.

First person solo narrative horror. Go to the main website to see the trailer fully uncensored. It’s naughty and violent.

When it’s DC and you’ve done everything, you gotta do something new with your characters.
I feel they did this one right.
This show will be sad to say goodbye too, but I also feel The Wall story has mostly ended to a completion so Solar Opposites can as well.
Fuck this looks good.
Fuck this also looks so good. So much cool stuff to watch soon.
4 years since their last single. Still making great tunes.
Just discovered them they’re fantastic.
G.I. Joe and Transformers have excellent stuff in the pipeline comics wise.
This will probably be the show everyone is talking about.
yes, new Cobra Starship. I mean, it’s a remix, but its an official 2025 remix and the live performance of it at VANS Warped Tour 2025 Long Beach was great.
Remastered & New Issues of the Long Out-of-Print Series to Be Released Beginning This November
LOS ANGELES 07/25/2025 — At his “Robert Kirkman LIVE at SDCC” panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC), visionary creator Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead, TRANSFORMERS) announced the return of the long out-of-print and very much in-demand comic book series Capes from Skybound and Image Comics. Representinghis and co-creator/artist Mark Englert’s (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hack Slash) corner of theInvincible Universe,Capes will return to comic book shops beginning in November 2025 as a special remastering featuring new art and dialogue from the original creative team.
Reprinted for the first time since its release over 20 years ago, fans and collectors will not want to miss the new monthly releases of Capes. This series is perfect for fans looking to discover every corner of the Invincible Universe as seen in the hit Skybound and Prime Video series, which continues to shatter records worldwide.
Then, in a thrilling second announcement, Kirkman revealed that all-new Capes stories will be coming from another longtime friend of the Invincible Universe, writer Benito Cereno (Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, Blood & Thunder), alongsideartistMark Englert. Beginning in 2026 with issue #7, this revival of Capes promises to take fans even deeper into unexplored areas of the Invincible Universe.
“With so much excitement surrounding all things Invincible-related, I knew we had to get Capes back in print!” exclaimed an uncharacteristically enthusiastic Robert Kirkman. “Revisiting the original issues was so much fun, we knew we couldn’t stop there. I love these characters and it was a thrill to get to introduce the world to Bolt, Kid Thor and Knockout in Invincible season 3. If the world wants more Capes how can we not give it to them?”
“When Robert contacted me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to recolor Capes, I was super excited,” said Mark Englert. “I wasn’t expecting going over the old pages to feel so therapeutic, almost mentoring my younger self to bring the art up to par with rest of the amazing books in the Skybound library. When we made the decision to go all in, really remaster the art beyond the colors, adding backgrounds, fixing up faces or figures, my passion for drawing sequential pages was rekindled and I wanted to keep going. Creating brand new Capes stories with Robert and Benito has been a dream come true!”
BOLT! KID THOR! KNOCK OUT! CAPTAIN COSMIC! CLAIRE VOYANT! BIG BRAIN! COMMANDER CAPITALISM! Welcome to Capes Inc, employers of your favorite superheroes that protect New York City – well, at least when they’re on the clock – from threats like MACHINE HEAD, TITAN…and now are in the crosshairs of an enemy they never expected!
“It’s been a real thrill to get to dive back into the Invincible Universe, especially into some of its less-explored corners,” said Benito Cereno. “Any Invincible fan might spend time wondering about the off-panel adventures of Allen the Alien or the Immortal, but it takes a real weirdo to wonder what Battery Bill and Brain Boy were up to during the Viltrumite War. And luckily for me, I get a chance to be that weirdo, officially, together with my old pal, Mark Englert!”
Capes #1 features covers by both Invincible series artists, contributing creator Ryan Ottley and co-creator Cory Walker. The stacked lineup includes a main cover by Ryan Ottley, an open-to-order cover by Mark Englert, a 1:10 incentive variant by Cory Walker, a 1:25 incentive variant by Jahnoy Lindsay, a 1:50 incentive black-and-white variant by Ryan Ottley, and a blank sketch cover.
Capes #1 (Lunar Codes Coming Soon | $3.99) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
The full list of variant covers is below:

From July 8th – July 15th I took a vacation in Denver, CO. I did not check Youtube during this time and sporadically checked emails. I have games to play and review, TV and movies to watch, and life to catch up on, but I am going to do my best to find things I missed while I was away eating amazing food, visiting Meow Wolf, Rocky Mountain National Park, Casa Bonita and so much more (a post on the trip to come). So here we go… Nerd Notes.

I watched nothing but HBO in my hotel room in the morning and night, this trailer played 10 times at least. I’m interested since I am a Billy Joel music fan and I appreciate him being humble and owning to mistakes.

The entirety of this Zero Hour was pretty fantastic.
Announced over a year ago, this still seems promising.
Now THIS is a movie. Amazing cast who still become their characters, intriguing plot and a trailer that doesn’t truly reveal the film but just hints at a lot of stuff.

I do not have a photo of the 20 pounds of books I sent home earlier on day one, nor do I have a photo of the many books I ended up getting on the last day. One day, but I also feel the books being both already published and Galleys/ARCs will slowly just be on the shelves. I do want to note that the new Joe Hill, which I scored an ARE before leaving the show is epic not just in concept but also in size.

A story about Brotherly Love, PA: This awesome hat for Ma Lessie’s caught my eye as I was on line to buy some ACTUAL fried chicken & waffles. I wanted to buy one but they only had it in black. The chef gave me the hat off his head, no charge, even after I offered. Amazing. The food was also amazing and I must come back sometime sooner than later. Maybe in September.
