THE MANDALORIAN SEASON 2, VOLUME 2 (CHAPTERS 13-16)

Burbank, CA – November 20, 2020 — Walt Disney Records releases the digital soundtrack from Season 2 of “The Mandalorian,” Lucasfilm’s multiple Emmy®-winning live-action series, streaming exclusively on Disney+. The Mandalorian Season 2, Volume 1 (Chapters 9-12) digital album features score by Oscar®, Grammy® and Emmy® winning composer Ludwig

Göransson (TenetBlack Panther) and is available HERE. The release will be followed by The Mandalorian Season 2, Volume 2 (Chapters 13-16) digital album available on December 18.

Earlier this year, Göransson won his first Emmy for “The Mandalorian” “Chapter 8: Redemption” in the Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score) category.   For the first season of “The Mandalorian,” Göransson released eight full-length albums, one album per episode, with recurring themes throughout the season.  This season, he will release the soundtrack in two volumes containing new musical themes, sounds and ideas.
The score and character themes feature instruments played by Göransson including the bass recorder, woodwinds, drums, guitars, piano and percussion.  The organic elements from those instruments are then infused with tech sounds and a cinematic orchestra.

About Ludwig Göransson
In a career spanning only 12 years, Ludwig Göransson has amassed an impressive resume in both the recording and motion picture industries, earning an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, multiple Grammy Awards and countless other nominations. After working as an assistant to composer Theodore Shapiro, Göransson got his first big break writing music for the NBC television series, Community. This led to a friendship and collaboration with Donald Glover, who performs under the stage name Childish Gambino, on several studio albums including Because the Internet and Awaken, My Love. Göransson has been nominated for six Grammys with Childish Gambino, and won two in 2019 for the Billboard Hot 100 Number One hit song “This Is America,” which became a cultural phenomenon and garnered world-wide acclaim.
While pursuing his master’s degree in film scoring at USC, Göransson met his other longtime collaborator, director Ryan Coogler, when he scored his short film, Locks. Over the next nine years, Göransson would score all three of Coogler’s feature films. Much like iconic filmmaking duos Hitchcock and Herrmann or Spielberg and Williams, Coogler’s diverse filmography has allowed Göransson to show his range as a composer, writing understated melodies for Fruitvale Station, hyping up audiences for Creed, and infusing African percussion into his themes for Black Panther.
Göransson has accumulated success in a variety of other films including the box office smash Venom and Pixar’s Inner Workings. In 2019, Göransson earned multiple awards and nominations for his score for Black Panther including a Golden Globe nomination, a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack, and an Academy Award for Best Original Score. He won two Grammy Awards for his song “This is America”, which he co-wrote and co-produced with frequent collaborator Childish Gambino.
Most recently, Göransson completed the score for Season 2 of The Mandalorian, LucasFilm’s first Star Wars live-action series helmed by director Jon Favreau, streaming exclusively on Disney+.  In September 2020, he won his first Emmy Award for his work on the series.  Göransson also composed the music for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which premiered late summer 2020.  In addition, he co-wrote and co-produced the songs for DreamWorks’ Trolls World Tour with Justin Timberlake, which exceeded expectations with its history-making digital release in April 2020, racking up nearly $100 million in sales in just three weeks.

Grammy-Nominated Illustrator Benjamin Marra Joins Ho Che Anderson for RIZZO

A Neo-Noir Revenge Novella From NeoText Books Expands the World of STONE

(Oct 19) Writer Ho Che Anderson, the acclaimed cartoonist of KING, SAND & FURY, and GODHEAD, is following up his first work of prose fiction in more than 20 years with a new noir-soaked novella titled RIZZO. Joining Anderson on RIZZO is Grammy-nominated illustrator Benjamin Marra, who provides 15 spot illustrations, including 5 full color paintings—the artists’ first ever foray into painted art.

STONE, the first novella in the series, follows Graciela “Stone” O’Leary in an electrifying revenge fantasy set in a near-future dystopia where the brutal Merit Party has cancelled the elections. io9 praised the novella as “a very timely tale… featuring gorgeous illustrations by the author.” RIZZO, the follow-up, introduces us to Stone’s friend Rizzo as he gets his own revenge on the society that’s determined to keep him and his people down.

“Ben and I share the same comics publisher, got seated next to each other randomly at a convention signing a couple years ago, and became friends on the spot,” said Anderson. “I read his book Night Business and immediately started dreaming of collaborating with him. I totally clicked with his graphic novel’s 80s neon-smeared brand of exploitation, a set of sensibilities I hold very dear to my heart. I think Ben’s art reached a new level with his work on Rizzo, and I’m thrilled we got to work on it together, and for people to see what Ben’s got up his sleeve.”

Once Rizzo was a legend in the making, a kid from the flats on the way to achieving the dream of becoming a pro basketball player—until he crossed the Martin family, regional directors of the Merit Party, and wound up on the Chain Gang, facing a slow, cruel death sentence of years of hard labor in service to the very people who stole his life. But in a world where US elections have been suspended, and the poor are taxed at a rate far, far greater than the rich, Rizzo watches the guards drag two men to their execution for a trivial offence and decides now is finally the time to embrace his plan.

Rizzo must return to his hometown, form a crew of the best people he knows—Dennis, the smartest person ever to attend the flats high school and an expert on electronics, security systems, locks, and surveillance equipment; Mo, the sneakiest person alive and a self-appointed spy, always one jump ahead of the authorities; and Rhino, whose impulsive explosiveness with his unparalleled fists is both his weakness and his strength—and lead a revolution to overthrow the Merit Party. He’s already worked out where to start: by hitting them at their most sensitive point—their money—in an outrageous heist that shouldn’t be possible. But first, there’s the matter of escaping the confines of his prison. And Rizzo has a plan for that too…

“Ho Che Anderson is a legend whose comics work I’ve been following for decades,” said Marra, the acclaimed artist of American Blood and JesusFreak. “I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for his talents as a writer and artist. It’s been a special honor to get to know him as a friend and an incredible experience to collaborate with him on this project. I hope it’s the first time of many. The story Ho Che wrote is pure pulp crime genre goodness. It’s exactly the kind of thing I love and which inspires me to make art. It was easy to be inspired by his prose to create the illustrations accompanying the narrative, and I hope my images do his words justice.”

“I’m really excited about Stone as a character and as a world,” added Anderson. “Not only is it a fun universe of thrills and chills to play in, but it also has the somewhat unwanted function of being a cautionary tale. When we started this project the idea of an American dictatorship was, we were hoping, a paranoid fantasy. Flash forward two years and suddenly we find ourselves living in a world in which the so-called leader of the free world, of the grandest democracy in history to hear it told, wants to smash that democracy and, what, declare himself dictator for life? The story we’re telling would be relevant in any era—the craven desire for power and its ease of abuse is eternal—but as it’s turned out, the world of Stone has become a sad reflection of where we’re at in 2020 in the real world and where we could be heading. No matter where we as a society go from here, I have a lot of stories I’d like to tell with these characters and I can’t wait to get started on them.”

A politically timely and cathartic thrill-ride, RIZZO will be available digitally on October 20th for $1.99.

Born in London, England, Ho Che Anderson was named after the Vietnamese and Cuban revolutionaries Ho Chi Minh and Che Guevara. Anderson began his career as the author of numerous graphic novels, including KING, a biography of Martin Luther King, the horror thriller, SAND & FURY, and the science-fiction action-adventure, GODHEAD. During this time he also wrote the children’s novel, THE NO-BOYS CLUB. After a two-year stint as a Toronto Star reporter, Anderson embraced a lifelong fascination with filmmaking. He studied film production at the Toronto Film School and Sheridan College, during which he was involved in the production of more than 40 shorts as either DP, camera operator, editor, writer, or director. One of those films, LOTUS EATERS, won best picture at the 2014 TFS Festival of Films and was an official selection at the 2014 ReelWorld Film Festival. Following film school he joined IATSE Local 667 where he worked for several years as a camera assistant on numerous shows including Reign, Taken, and Designated Survivor to further hone his skills. Anderson wrote and directed his first feature in 2018, the supernatural heist thriller, LE CORBEAU, for Canada’s Telefilm, and is currently in development on a second feature with Antigravity Entertainment. He is also hard at work scripting several graphic novels, among them another tale of the supernatural called, THE RESURRECTIONISTS, for Abrams Books.

Benjamin Marra is a Grammy-nominated American illustrator and comic-book artist, as well as the creator of the books Night Business, American Blood, and Terror Assaulter: O.M.W.O.T. (One Man War On Terror). Marra’s illustrations have appeared in Playboy, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times, to name a few, and have been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, The Society of Publication Designers, and American Illustration. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where he draws comics and is a designer for MLB Advanced Media.

AMC Games’ Airplane Mode Arrives Today on PC and Mac

I first saw this game at Playcrafting’s PLAY NYC about 2 years ago and was impressed with it then. Having now recently been on a short Delta flight with no easily accessible online entertainment and just basically sleeping the one hour flight I could easily see myself enjoying this real-time simulator.

Experience a Flight from JFK to Halifax or Reykjavik—in Real-Time—in this Unusual Simulation Game

New York, NY — October 15, 2020 — Flight attendants, prepare the doors for arrival and crosscheck — AMC Games is pleased to announce that Airplane Mode is now available on Steam for $11.99 USD. Created by Hosni Auji and Bacronym Games, this passenger simulator is a chance for players to unplug and enjoy a transatlantic journey from JFK to Halifax or Reykjavik in real time.

Airplane Mode simulates everything that happens between boarding a flight and arriving at your destination, including crying babies, spotty wi-fi, the possibility of turbulence, and the choice between a delicious fish or chicken dinner. No two flights in Airplane Mode are ever the same, because flight events and circumstances are randomized for a replayable travel experience.

“It’s hard to believe that this once strange idea for a game, which I was almost too timid to make, is now going to be out there for people to experience and, hopefully, enjoy,” said Hosni Auji. “Airplane Mode wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of my team and support of the folks at AMC Games. Now that the game has taken off, I look forward to seeing the response…and the opportunity to come up with more aviation puns.”

“One of my favorite things about this title is that it really pushes the boundaries of gaming,” said Clayton Neuman, VP of Gaming for AMC. ”At AMC Games, we’re always trying to give players a memorable, unusual, or exciting experience, and Airplane Mode definitely fits at least one of those descriptions. We’re thrilled for players to finally get their hands on this one-of-a-kind game.”

Game highlights include:

● Entertainment. Airplane Mode includes a variety of in-game content, such as podcasts, videos, music and more—and some of these are exclusive to the game. For example, the Podcasts app on your in-game phone includes an ambient music podcast available only inside Airplane Mode.

● Authenticity. Infamous game designer Bennett Foddy lends his voice and personality as the voice of your captain throughout the flight. Before takeoff, you’ll view an inflight safety video produced by AMC Games’ “slightly off” network sibling IFC.

● Simplicity. Unlike other aviation games, there is no learning curve with Airplane Mode. You can start relaxing from the very first minute, with no need for extensive tutorials or instructions.

● Discovery. Randomized flight events create a different experience every time. Will your flight be smooth through clear skies, or will you experience turbulence and stormy weather? Will you be annoyed with crying babies and a delayed arrival, or will you find enjoyment and peace on your journey?

● Perseverance. Depending on your mood and mindset, your flight may be challenging instead of relaxing. Will your brain successfully battle boredom and allow you to arrive at your destination?

● Comfort. Enjoy the experience and quiet familiarity of flying without the worries and discomfort of real-life air travel — no lost baggage, no leg cramps, and no jetlag!

Airplane Mode is available exclusively on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/931310/Airplane_Mode/

SAVAGE DRAGON RUSHED BACK TO PRINT TO KEEP UP WITH OUTPOURING OF FUNNIES FANATICISM

From an artistic standpoint Savage Dragon #252 should win so many awards in 2021. Erik Larsen and Ferran Delgado out did themselves.

PORTLAND, Ore. 10/02/2020 — The wildly popular homage to classic “funnies” comic strips—SAVAGE DRAGON #252 by Image partner and CFO Erik Larsen—is being rushed back to print to keep up with growing demand.

In this experimental issue, Larsen taps into the beloved comics nostalgia of classic Funnies strips with double-page spreads in the iconic newspaper comic strip style of storytelling. From a Peanuts parody to a Dick Tracy send-up, from a Doonesbury lampoon to a Blondie satire, this issue is sure to amaze and inspire.

“I’m happy to see how enthusiastically this issue was received by the fans. It was an enormous challenge to write and draw. It took considerably longer to put together than an ordinary issue of Savage Dragon and it’s extremely gratifying to have had it be so well received,” said Larsen. “I spent weeks combing through newspaper strips and making lists of what might work I drew strips which didn’t make the grade for one reason or another and had a lot of false starts along the way. Ferran Delgado, my letterer, hit it out of the park emulating the lettering of each strip. It was a tremendous effort but true labor of love for everybody involved.”

SAVAGE DRAGON #252, second printing (Diamond Code AUG209090) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, October 28.

SAVAGE DRAGON #252 is also available for purchase across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

The Collective 2020 Preview Post via Pop-Culture Spectrum (Constantly Updated)

Wrestling is not traditionally a primary focus of Pop-Culture Spectrum, but if you head to the art portfolio you’d see it is one of the most primary sources of entertainment for the site’s creator. P-CS’ director also works directly in professional wrestling as a producer, agent and talent relations. During the pandemic it has been very hard to be both a fan and work in the industry but they have been doing so. Yet they have not been to a real show since January of 2020 not counting the invite only event of MV Young’s Polyam Party 1 in an undisclosed location in August.  Their big return to shows will be the three day long The Collective in Indiana. A recovery from an event originally scheduled for Wrestlemania 2020 weekend in Tampa, it was postponed/cancelled like all independent events for that time period. In what was practically a shocking announcement the event is still happening albeit with a different line-up then originally announced.  It still is a crazy event though and PC-S as well as one of their compatriots and hardcore fellow wrestling heads of similar interests have decided to hit the event up in all its glory with front row seats to every event, spending a day before and after, and plenty funds for meals, merch and more.  Other websites have written up the current line up as announced, but P-CS likes to do things their own way, so here is the current card (updated as we come closer), with a few personal words on each announced match from the mind of Reid Harris Cooper, described by some as a wrestling ambassador and others a living, breathing cagematch.net (although I don’t know everyone, but I do know how to look them up).

SIDE NOTE: If you won’t be in Indiana for this all the shows are available on FITE, but your best deal is the complete package with unlimited replay options.

Jordan has been making a lot of noise since coming back from Covid with added bulk and focusing his energy of his team with Myron Reed while Ace Austin has been killing it on TV weekly while also branching out, expanding his network and making himself sought out.

Jimmy Lloyd vs Benjamin Carter AJ Gray (?): After the two biggest matches of his short but amazing career, Ben Carter was tested Covid Positive. Here is hoping that quarantining till The Collective allows this match to happen as this is a dream for Jimmy and I don’t know who he would choose as Option B. EDIT Update: Unfortunately Carter won’t be cleared by Friday (or doesn’t want to take the risk). I don’t know if AJ Gray was Option B or just another great match that obviously will be very different than the one with Ben would’ve been.
Smoking Budz vs Ellis Taylor & Charlie Tiger (YDNB) vs Steve Sanders & Dyln McKay (Hi-02010) vs Top Flight (Airwolf & Lucha Angel)
1 Called Manders vs Logan Stunt: A true David vs Goliath, even more so than “Wildheart” and Tankman. Manders is the cowboy we all need, but Logan has some of the most educated feet out there.

4PM SUP
Erick Stevens vs Brett Ison
Allie Kat vs Davienne: These two had their first ever encounter last year at Uncharted Territory for Beyond. It’ll be great to see what they do in this showcase
To Infinity and Beyond (Delaney & Cheech) vs Violence is Forever (Ku x Garrini)
Jaden Newman vs Anthony Henry
A.C. Mack vs 1 Called Manders
Jake Something vs O’Shay Edwards: The HOSS wars are all going to be something.
Nolan Edward vs AJ Gray

Daniel Makabe vs Lee Moriarty: Easily could the show stealer, and by that I mean of the entire weekend. Makabe not long ago was called the #2 Best Technical wrestler period. Since that time lots has changed, he automatically became #1 because reasons, but hasn’t had many opportunities to prove that. This match against Taiga Style, who has quickly become one of the best period is that chance.

8PM AIW
AIW World Title: Matthew Justice (c) w/ Fonzie vs Joshua Bishop w/ Wes Barkley (No Rope Barbed Wire)

Danhausen vs Mordecai Kevin Thorne?: Very evil, very nice, very angelic. This match is just going to be weird. Mordecai isn’t even a wrestler anymore but I know he goes to 11 when its time to and against one of the most interesting, charismatic talents he better.
