LOS ANGELES, CA (January 31, 2022) – BOOM! Studios today revealed a first look at THE KILLER #1, the return of the Eisner Award-nominated series by acclaimed French artist Luc Jacamon and writer Matz (The Black Dahlia), with a brand new six-issue series AFFAIRS OF THE STATE, bringing readers into the Killer’s high-stakes world of espionage and contract killing before the upcoming Netflix film directed by David Fincher (The Social Network), written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en), and starring Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class).
Caught and put to work as an on-call assassin for the French government, Killer has to adjust to working with a handler, a partner, and living life as a civilian. An underhanded target, a City Hall employee, leads Killer and his partner, Nicolas, toward a sinister web of city-wide corruption. But while Nicolas assures Killer that it’s all for the greater good, will Killer ever be able to get back to his nihilistic lifestyle, free from debt and government associations?

The six issue miniseries event is produced by Arancia Studio—the Italian media company which worked on Mirka Andolfo’s bestselling Image Comics titles and with the surprising Deep Beyond and Commanders in Crisis—and launches from Image Comics this March.

Launching in March 2022, this monthly miniseries will be a collaboration between two of the comic industry’s most exciting talents, writer Cullen Bunn (Deadpool, Green Lantern, Godzilla: Cataclysm) and artist Freddie Williams II (Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man/ThunderCats).
