The Society of Illustrators is proud to release the visuals for the 2023 MoCCA Arts Festival!

The Society is thrilled to welcome the community back to the MoCCA Arts Festival! Please join us in celebrating a selection of top comic, cartoon, illustration, and animation artists from around the world! Featuring work by over 500 creators, the weekend will also include live lectures, panels, and artist signings! In one of the first independent comics festivals of the season, this year’s Fest will include masters of the industry as well as newcomers and fan favorites!

The Fest will take place April 1 – 2, 2023 from 11:00AM – 7:00PM on Saturday and 11:00AM – 6:00PM on Sunday. Held in the modern and spacious Metropolitan Pavilion, visitors will enjoy the venue’s large floor plan and high ceilings, allowing for a bright and well-ventilated space. Located at 125 W 18th Street, Met Pavilion is nestled in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood, and is within walking distance to many great restaurants and attractions. Programming will be a few steps away at the SVA Flatiron Gallery, located at 133 West 21st Street.

To help announce and promote this year’s Fest, the Society asked award-winning Artist Toma Vagner to create the main visual. Vagner’s art will grace the cover of the Souvenir Journal and will feature prominently on all advertising and promotional materials, as well as a selection of merchandise available to purchase at the SI Booth.

In addition to Toma’s art, the Society has also asked several notable artists to create work for the show. Flora Bai’s whimsical creatures will be displayed on the badges and promotional items, and Kruttika Susarla will be featured as spot illustrations found throughout the Fest. These featured artists will be attending the Fest, and their schedules and table locations will be released as the date approaches.

The Society will continue to release additional information about the Fest in the near future. Tickets are available to purchase online as well as at the door.  The Society is following all state and city safety protocols. Protocols are subject to change, so be sure to check back for the latest information. As of now, face coverings are optional at Metropolitan Pavilion and the Exhibitor Hall. Proof of vaccines, boosters and masks are required to enter SVA buildings and programming.
