Magnetic Press Opens Pre-Orders for Official LUPIN THE 3rd 50th Anniversary Art Book

CHICAGO, IL (June 22, 2022) — Today, Magnetic Press, acclaimed publisher of graphic novels and art books, launched the official pre-order site for the long-awaited coffee table art book 50 Animated Years of LUPIN THE 3rd, a 200-page hardcover volume celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the beloved character’s anime adventures to be released this Fall. The project has been developed in official partnership and full cooperation with TMS Entertainment, the prolific Japanese animation studio behind LUPIN THE 3rd, showcasing the many madcap exploits of the master thief throughout his entire franchise career to date.
Originally based on the manga by acclaimed creator Monkey Punch in 1967, Lupin III has starred in hundreds of serialized animated episodes, specials, and feature films adored worldwide. The anniversary art book chronicles the franchise’s evolution from the very first televised episode in 1971 to the newest season LUPIN THE 3rd PART 6, as well the franchise’s many animated specials and feature films, including LUPIN THE 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro — notable for being the theatrical debut of renowned director Hayao Miyazaki — and LUPIN III: The Firstthe franchise’s first foray into feature-length CG animation released in 2019.

The Anniversary artbook can now be pre-ordered through the dedicated website www.lupin-3-rpg.com and is available in two editions, both of which will include exclusive items available only through this pre-order site. The standard 200-page hardcover will include an exclusive 48-page softcover sketchbook filled with additional artwork and designs from Lupin’s storied history, including artwork from LUPIN THE 3rd PART 1, LUPIN THE 3rd PART 2, LUPIN THE 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro, LUPIN THE 3rd PART 3, LUPIN THE 3rd PART 5, LUPIN THE 3rd PART 6, and the LUPIN THE IIIRD seriesas well as a Limited Edition Golden Metal Coin featuring the Cagliostro and Lupin Emblems.

Limited Deluxe Slipcase Edition will also be available featuring the book inside a premium gold-foiled slipcase, a Limited Edition 11×8.5″ Linen Cardstock Print from The Castle of Cagliostro, a gold foil-stamped bookmark, an exclusive golden lapel pin featuring the official 50th Anniversary Lupin logo, and a numbered tip-in bookplate in addition to the standard edition’s bonus sketchbook and collectible coin. This Slipcase Set will only be available through this pre-order site, and only 1000 copies will be produced.
Both editions are expected to ship in October.
